QWKVX Our Drag & Drive Car

Our VX wagon is one of our primary in-house development vehicles. Built as a real-world test platform, it allows us to refine new calibration strategies, validate hardware changes, and develop performance packages before they’re released to customers.

We’re currently working directly with HP Tuners as part of the CORE ECU testing and development program, giving us early access to new firmware, operating systems, and calibration features. This allows us to test, validate, and provide real feedback before public release.

What we’re testing and developing:

CORE ECU integration for LS-based platforms

Advanced ignition, fueling, and torque management strategies

Nitrous activation control and safety logic

Progressive nitrous ramp tuning

High-load, high-RPM durability mapping

Real-time logging validation for nitrous-assisted passes

Custom OS functions and expanded calibration tables

Why the VX Wagon?

The VX wagon is built specifically for reliable, repeatable development work. It is:

Extremely consistent on both dyno and track

Stable under high load and rapid nitrous torque increase

Compatible with wet and dry nitrous systems

Set up on E85 with precise fueling for nitrous enrichment

Fully integrated with HP Tuners logging for calibration validation

Proven in real competition environments

Proven in Competition – Drag Challenge 2025

In 2025, the VX wagon competed in Street Machine Drag Challenge in the 235B class and finished 10th in the class.

The car performed faultlessly across the entire multi-day torture test — proving the reliability of the engine setup, nitrous system, and the calibration work developed in-house using HP Tuners CORE ECU.

The VX done a PB each day with a best 1/4 mile time of 10.7 @ 126MPH & 1/8 Mile time of 6.8 @ 104mph

This real-world endurance challenge provided invaluable data and confirmed the durability and consistency of our tuning strategies under genuine race conditions.

How this benefits customers

Our involvement with HP Tuners — combined with validation through competition — means customers receive:

Safer, more reliable nitrous calibrations

Controlled torque management for smooth power delivery

Better drivability on and off nitrous

Access to the newest tuning features as they are developed

Calibrations built on real-world competition-proven data

The VX wagon continues to be our dedicated proving ground. Every improvement we validate through testing and racing directly improves the performance packages available at Cavill’s Performance.
